being “really really into weird al as a teenager” and “not ever listening to a lot of radio growing up” is very peculiar because i cant count on two hands the number of times over the last 5 years ive heard something on the radio or from a band that im checking out and gone “whoa, its that song that i listened to a bunch when it was sung by weird al in his strange polka-cover-ensemble songs”

like shit that i really should have heard before today yet even now im running into the original songs for the first time. and i cant even say i ever had this situation with his parodies.
