My abstract of Island of trash.

A "floating" island of trash dubbed the Great Pacific Garbage Patch (GPGP) now stretches 600,000 square miles, according to a study published Thursday in Scientific Reports. It's more than twice the size of Texas (three times the size of France), and it's growing every day.Mar 22, 2018 Since this article I read that they are trying to clean it up but it is impossible to clean up the whole Island. They are trying to reduce it by 50%.

Can you imagine how large this floating Island is now😨. Plastic is not digestible. Humans consume 5 grams of plastic a week, about the weight of a credit card. According to Australian researchers that is a half of a pound every 12 months. Our bodies can't digest plastic and our stomachs acids doesn't break them down. If it can't go through your stomach and intestines you will have problems.

I really don't feel like we are doing enough, we don't need plastic bags, bottles, utensils, containers. I've heard that in the medical field plastic has saved lives, I can see having plastic for those reasons.

One day humans will be extinct.
