A very charming yet primitive piece from a simpler time: rare piece of bowling memorabilia from the recently closed Cambrian Bowl in San Jose, California (which had been in operation for over 50 years). The elf/knome was the mascot of this establishment and this lapel pin was allegedly given to bowlers of a 200 game during the 1970s thru the early/mid 1980s. @ebay turns 25 this week! Did you receive a personal snapshot from them which details some of your “firsts” on the platform? As some of my reseller peers have already noticed, EBay has taken some.. liberties... with accuracy in places. ✅ I joined Ebay in Nov of 1997 ❌ On the heels of signing up I bought my first item (a Yuri Gagarin, Soviet cosmonaut vintage postcard) that very same week NOT 4 years later as cited. ❌ I became a seller the following year, 1998 (ultimately raising funds for an engagement ring with sales culled from ‘98-99). I was long married by the 2001 date that Ebay references as my first sale. ✅ I was shopping on the Ebay app via tablet several months before having my first smart phone, 8 years ago. Btw- I still use that fragrance; think of it as a blend of Hai Karate & Sex Panther for the modern beachcomber. ✅ My first offer made (15 years ago) was for a Nightmare Before Christmas item: seems plausible. (I’m pretty sure I no longer own it) ✅ I honestly can’t recall when the ability to ‘watch’ items was implemented on the site. A bundle of LEGO ‘space crater’ baseplates was a thing that I stockpiled for about a dozen years as I covered an office ceiling with them. I like how @Etsy encourages back-patting for various milestones! We first planted our flag there 6 years ago but did absolutely nothing really until April 2019 when the shop became properly established with our vintage items cross-posted from Ebay. Two months onward we finally got our first sale and now just over a year later we’ve had our 50th customer. Velocity-wise, 35 of those transactions occurred this past April-June. On Etsy, TradrDon has a 5-Star rating with 12 reviews (the first of which only posted in April).
