oughhh love your dragons. any tips on drawings those mech dragons tho?
tysm! Honestly, I don't haha.. I'm not really the best at tips I don't think.
I just improvise most of my artwork, but I can provide a little doodle or so on how I sometimes start drawing them. I usually just draw them how I draw most of my dragons, but I break down certain areas that I know will be a little more.. uh?? robot shaped?? Like arms and wings for example— anything that counts as joints.
Most sketches like this (below) happen in phases. I start the head and neck then detail that, then the body and front legs. Sorta like this post here, where Roller only has the front part of his body sketched.
Or even here where I start the head but the body isn't bodying, so I block it out instead. I'll always glaze blocking out shapes with big brushes, its very fun and makes visualizing stuff a lot easier haha
This post with Quintus's sketch may also help? Just with how I shape them in sometimes. Unfortunately a lot of it is just in my brain and it's hard to put that process down :'D
Here are a couple more examples that I recently made when working on some frame-type comparison sketches
I’m an improviser through and through. The only tips I really have is just do what your heart tells you 🤷. I also draw bayverse a lot so maybe that would help haha— like using references of other tf media and ofc vehicles and joints. But even then I’m not really good at those either, I just kinda draw what feels right.
