Ororon made it pretty far without being spotted. Using the cover of night, and his own arsenal of spells his Granny had taught him to get him this far. While the idea of using them again for his own selfish gain, he believes he is justified once again for his deeds.

Throughout the day, he could see the gloom on people’s faces as they all attempted to huddle near the makeshift fire, trying to warm themselves best they could while the Guards divvied up blankets and rations as best they could. The sight, reminding him of much of the war back in Natlan, when all hope and comfort seemed like a distant memory. He never wanted to see the looks of despair that surrounded him once more but change never happens if one stays idle.

Looking both ways before crossing through, keeping a keen eye out for Guards that were on patrol. As he was just about to make another quick dash forward a sound catches his ears, making them flick that direction. He turns, materializing his bow, but not notching it, just in case it was a civilian.

“Whose there?”

(Record scratch) Yup, that's me. Probably wondering how I get into this situation.

People tease him about being a raccoon, but right now he probably looks more like a squirrel- mouth full of food, cheeks puffed out, eyes widened in shock. He was hungi.. and after the silver had grabbed something from one of the stalls set up for the festival. Afterwards, he just wanted to get some quiet and a little bit of alone time. Don't get him wrong, he already is struggling to not sprint back to the city ( they're still there, no one's left you behind, everyone is safe and well, you're fine- ) but everyone needs some space now and then.

He hadn't expected to be held at arrow-point for his attempted get away. With a nervous laugh, Caelus extends one of his hands out towards the stranger, warm bread in his open palm- like a peace offering to a wild animal. His other hand remains still as stone, keeping his face full of his own bite of some random food item Caelus already forgot the name to.

Warp Trotter Finale - After the Race

“Hey!” Ororon called out to Wriothesley, trying to get to him as the large crowd dispersed from their seats. Everyone taking advantage of the intermission that was called when the race had officially ended. Ororon, getting a bit too excited, had immediately ran out of their little designated section to meet up with Big First Snow. Ready to congratulate him for a job well done, with many scritches and treats! Lots and lots of treats. What he wasn’t expecting was to basically be bulldozed over by the little rascal, falling to the ground together with laughter that loudly rang out throughout the arena.

Now, he was trying to find his former competitor, and he lit up when he finally found the man. “Uncle Wriothesley, hang on! You got a sec?” Stopping in front of the other gentleman with a huge smile on his face, excitement was still written all over him even though the race was over and he had lost. The young man was just ecstatic to have the opportunity to experience something he never would have back home! Also, he got to meet so many new fantastic people! Now that was a win in his books!

“The race started before I could properly say my hellos to ya! It’s been a while, and I hope everything on your end has been well and all with,” He looks around, before lowering his voice and leaning closer to ensure that no one could hear him. “That certain case back in Fontaine.” 

“Anyway,” Ororon says, leaning down to pick up Big First Snow, who was relentlessly pawing at his leg. “I just wanted to congratulate you on your hard-won victory and wish you the best of luck in the Semi-Finals! We’ll be cheering for ya both in the stands!”

Ever the difficult one to track down, Wriothesley had wasted no time slipping into the crowd once it emptied from the stands. It was a force of habit by this point - in the Fortress, he tried to minimize his presence wherever possible, unless he needed to call upon the full power of the Duke - so he'd become rather adept at picking through the rowdy crowds of Pankration tournaments. Fortunately rowdy was not what he'd call this one, not even after the ruckus caused by one trotter running rogue, but the trainers and spectators alike nevertheless buzzed with the excitement of a close competition.

For better or worse, that meant he was easier to find, and as he veered from the crowd toward the kennel where he could check on Champ for the next leg of the tournament, Ororon crossed his path with his own trotter close at his heels.

"To be honest, I didn't expect to find a familiar face here, of all places." With cordial smile, Wriothesley caught up to him near the fence around the kennels. It had been a while since they'd last met, but he hadn't forgotten that strange whirlwind of events, nor Ororon's particular quirks. His conspiratorial whisper pulled a soft chuckle from Wriothesley. He nodded and folded his arms across his chest.

"All of that was squared away in short order. The Iudex is... frighteningly efficient in that regard. Of course, we owe it to you and your friend as well. You'll have to send my regards to Mr. Cacucu for me."

There was a teasing kind of lilt to his voice, a subtle joking pull to the corner of his smile, like he wasn't quite serious. But that was how Wriothesley treated everything that was just a little bit too vulnerable. He'd become rather fond of that little saurian, after all.

By now though, Ororon's trotter was getting impatient and amusement softened the corners of Wriothesley's eyes at the sight of the creature squirming in his arms.

"Yours gave the race its all, too. And now it's demanding those treats you promised." He laughed and started to turn toward the gate to the kennels. "I'll have to give Champ a few extra to pass on your well-wishing. See you in the stands."
