“Looks like Team Rocket’s blasting off again!” The explosion had, of course, hurt like nothing ever before- they never got easier to take. You would think after so long of the constant stuff, blowing up would become old hat. Nah, you’d be wrong. It still hurt. More than anything it hurt, the fire, the force, the gravel, she realized as she was flying in the air that James and Meowth were splitting off into other directions. Well that was great. Who didn’t love a good game of ‘Where’s Waldo’ featuring your team member and cat? Ugh, the worst part of blasting off was coming soon too. Hitting something.
Usually, that something was James. Which by some miracle never ended with more than a stiff back for the guy. But now she was on her own, trying to figure out how to soften her fall.
However, she didn’t have much time to think as she felt herself descending- and looking down it was right on a forest. A large tree, the leaves would be a nice cushion. But the branches? At least it wasn’t the worst thing. She was already bleeding from the stones that had cut her when the explosion hit, burns on her body from whatever fire pokemon was being used, what could a little more blunt force trauma and bark-caused scratches do that would really mess things up?
Another thought wasn’t allowed to cross her mind before she felt herself falling straight through the canopy of the trees, hitting and snapping twigs and branches as she fell straight through, thankfully avoiding anything too big before her fall was cushioned by a seemingly fluffy bush which let her roll gently onto the ground. Don’t get her wrong, everything still hurt. But she was just thankful she was still conscious this time, even if her body wasn’t listening to her yet.
