are the squid sisters half cuttlefish or have they instead inherited some traits of the species in their genes? (for example; their eyes and beautymarks)

one comment states that their japanese names comes from two different squids, for marie, her name goes by Hotaru, from hotaru-ika, the Japanese name for the firefly squid ---- and as for callie, it’s Aori, from aori-ika, meaning bigfin reef squid.
neither of these real life squids do not have star-like/crossed pupils like the cuttlefish has.
for their grandfather, cap’n cuttlefish, it states that he is a complete inkling. this implies that his partner (who is unknown) might’ve been a cuttlefish and got his last name from such. or it might’ve been a common name in his order. he also has the exact same ear shape as his granddaughters.
to further prove he’s most likely a complete inkling, he does not have the cross/star-shaped eyes. unlike for callie and marie.
according to the splatoon wiki, cuttlefish are known to be very similar to inklings.
in the 80′s/90′s of splatoon, or an era which it lived familiar to, there was two cuttlefish idols that served as musicians back then.
although there are many things to point out (which yu can read from the wiki), here are a few:
they have the exact same/very similar teeth shape to inklings, they have a black marking that resembles a mask, which is connected. and one of them has eyelashes like callie and marie. and they even have tentacles that serves as ‘hair’ tha changes ‘ink’ colour and gradient down to a darker colour at their tips. and the star-shaped eyes.
the squid sister’s eyes, beauty marks, eyelashes and other possibly small traits might not be a squid genetic thing at all.
in conclusion, we do not know much about their parents (whom are mentioned) or even a grandmother, but 1 cuttlefish or even two/three must’ve played a part in their family tree.
