hey checkov, of the character youve written and released so far, whos been the most fun to write and whos been the most difficult?

I’ll bite, because this is a fun question.

The easiest to write have been Rose and Amethyst, because I feel like Amethyst’s motivations are easy to understand and Rose I’ve been thinking about so long that I am just incapable of NOT channeling her. 

The hardest has been, weirdly enough, Steven, but not for the reason you might think. 

I have a good grasp of Steven and his motivations but he has a LOT of conflicting things about him. There’s layers to his trauma, and layers to his trust issues, and layers to his urge to Do His Best and Be A Good Person. 

And because I’ve already developed this story quite a ways beyond the current plot, I have to constantly do mental gymnastics back and forth between the Steven NOW and how he will be in the future while simultaneously making it all make sense for the current situation, AND allowing him enough time to grow and react to things in a more natural way.

so i understand that the gaang and friends would be upset about hearing sokka's fuckin dead. but can we stop for a second and think about druk. this baby probably doesnt understand that sokka is dead and hes just like "why is papa sad and where is other papa?" and hes just trying to figure out why everyone is so upset. bonus points is upon seeing sokka, he just tackles him like "papa back! papa back!"

Yo I saw the DND comic and I wanna ask, where can I read all of it? It looks really interesting!

The DnD comic is actually a fan work with characters from the Rusty Quill Gaming podcast - they’re playing an extended pathfinder campaign! You can look up ‘rusty quill gaming’ and listen online!

They are on season 4 right now and the storyline is EXCELLENT and the characters are amazing, and I greatly recommend it to anyone looking for a new tabletop RPG podcast. :)

Random Headcanon: Edward sings Rather Be to James when he's feeling down

(Song in question) I like this idea but I don’t see the original version being something for this couple…same with Edward just bursting into song. James would sing it in the shower maybe. But! I looked up some acoustic versions and I found this one and really like it and it feels fitting so here’s how I think it would go down:

James had a hard day so he’s kinda down but not over anything super important, he’s just gloomy- maybe he’s got his period so he’s more emotional. Edward’s not a big fan of modern pop but he knows James like this song so he puts on an acoustic version and goes over to the bed where James is moping. The lyrics come on and Edward starts softly singing to him and rocking to the beat. He sees James smile a bit and feels him lean into his embrace, he gets up and takes his hands and pulls him up to dance

Dancing together is definitely something these two do but it’s not usually to a slower song so it feels a bit more intimate. Edward’s still singing/saying the lyrics to him and moving around the room with him but James joins in and they’re singing it together! At the end of the song they kiss and James is all better
