How do you feel about Jason being deaged and Damian being very protective of his baby big brother?
I absolutely love that idea
Jason’s regressed into let’s say a 6-year-old or so. He’s confused, perhaps a bit scared, and very distrustful. After all, it’s still Jason and he may not remember anything from before he was 6, but he does remember living in Park Row and all the lessons that teaches. He’s just this little bundle of restless energy bouncing off the walls and staring everyone down.
Bruce has absolutely no idea what to do with this little kid. He’s never dealt with any of the other kids that young and this is Jason. Best he keeps his distance and all. Dick wants to smother the boy that’s his little brother (when is he ever going to get the chance with adult Jason?) and Tim treats him like a wild animal because the boy just doesn’t know how to interact with adult Jason let alone this little version. The others just aren’t around enough or have enough knowledge for what to do with a kid that young. So, it seems like Alfred’s the one that’s going to be taking care of Jason until he’s back to his normal self.
No one expects Damian to scoop up a crying cranky Jason and promptly putting him to bed. Jason’s been sitting there crying for the past half hour and wouldn’t let anyone near him. The Bats didn’t know what to do and Damian just walks up, lifts him into his arms (and boy is that a sight), and marches up into the manor. It becomes a running theme.
Jason is crying? Damian’s there to put him to bed or settle him in to read. Damian’s the one who ensures Jason is fed and entertained and even starts teaching him with remarkably advanced material. Whenever Jason wakes up with nightmares, he runs to Dami because Dami’s scary and makes the monsters go away.
The rest of the family can only stare on in shock when Damian acts as a more competent parent than any of Jason’s previous parental figures. Jason’s laughing and acting like an actual kid. He’s throwing fits, playing and leaving toys everywhere. He’s pulling pranks and warming up to the rest of the family, but Damian stays his favorite.
And heaven help whoever messes with Jason because Damian is not afraid to cut a bitch.
