Have a scene about my Invincible OC (and her dad) I wrote for my Screen Writing class
[Blue-ish light from a television lights up a living/dining room. A 17 year old girl sits on the couch, eyes glued to the news coverage on the screen] News Anchor: The world stood in silence today as Omni-Man tried to inspire hope during his speech at the Guardians of the Globe's funeral. That, despite Earth losing her greatest defenders, we still had the rest of the hero community to rely on. Here with me now is - [Phone rings] [Sofia gets up from the couch and answers the phone] Sofia: Hello? This is she. Wait, I'm sorry. He's where? [At the police station, Garrett, her father, is in cuffs that keep him from using magic.] Sofia: Dad.. what happened? This can't be right. Garrett: Sofi, just, just let me explain. Okay? Do you remember, when you were little, you caught me coming home late, and I was... [gestures to his current outfit] in my costume? [Sofia nods] Garrett: You asked me if I helped people, and I said yes. Well, technically, I wasn't wrong. It's just the people I help, aren't helping others. Sofia: [confused] What do you mean, dad? Garrett: Sofia... I'm not a hero. I'm a villian.
