1. Tell us about your WIP!

here is the skeletal structure i wrote for episode three of The Bachelor Season 22 (the Yuuri Katsuki Season):

ONE ON ONE DATE: Georgi and Yuuri go to Anacapa Island, which sounds too much like ‘Anya’ and is beautiful (like Anya), and Georgi spends the entire boat ride crying while Yuuri spends it fighting with producers.  Georgi does not get a rose at the end of the date and goes home.  GROUP DATE: glow zone. Yuuri’s competitiveness comes out during a round of laser tag and Yuri P. takes him up on the challenge. ELIMINATED: guang-hong and leo.  They just look too young.  AFTERWARDS: Victor and Yuuri at Yuuri’s hotel.  Victor helping Yuuri take the make-up off over a black eye he got while playing laser tag.  

20. Any advice for young writers/advice you wish someone would have given you early on?

be vulnerable, and don’t be afraid to make mistakes.  collaborate and know where your boundaries are.  listen to others.  your experiences can inform you for a long way, but allowing others to step in and help and be constructive and critical of your own work, as well as having a team to cheerlead you, is what is going to give your story and style depth, and it will help develop you as a writer! 

38. How do you nail voice in your books?

i literally think up fake conversations all day and write them down constantly by trying to hear other people’s voices; it’s about considering their motivations and desires and fears, i guess. i feel like no matter how i answer this question, i will come across as crazy, because the answer at it’s most basic is I SIT IN MY CAR AND ZONE OUT AND THINK ABOUT PEOPLE TALKING WHILE LISTENING TO MIXTAPES I MAKE ABOUT THEM AND I WRITE SENTENCES DOWN AS THEY COME.  i also sometimes read the conversations out loud back to myself without reading the description in between.  it’s all about building up to something, so you want the conversation to have an organic direction without feeling forced.

just that one link i posted! the thing i said abt it being a “legitimate podcast” was a joke - its a running joke between the mcelroys that griffin hosts it, but its a fake podcast! (made mostly from griffin just being Way Into Voretalk)

the reason theres one “episode” of it is bc they recorded it for a mbmbam donor episode!! sorry if i got confusing

Whoops. I use an app in the evenings that cuts down the amount of blue light my laptop outputs to help with sleep issues and I'm guessing that's what's going on and hopefully not late in life color distortion...yikes.
