Gary Adams Memorial
In 2009 I was approached to do a commemorative sculpture at the McHenry Country Club in McHenry, IL. It was to honor the inventor of the metal wood, and founder of Taylor Made, Gary Adams. He was a member of the McHenry Country Club where his father was the golf pro for many years. He passed away in 2000 from pancreatic cancer. The sculpture to be made from a dead Silver Maple was to incorporate the MCC logo as well as three of the metal drivers Gary was responsible for. A head bust of Gary is the focal point with cattails and marsh grasses rising up to a landing Mallard Drake (part of the MCC logo). On the opposite side the cattails become the shafts of three different metal woods, the original Taylor Made driver, the R7 & R12. Also, the MCC logo was engraved on the back facing N. John St..
Gary Adams and the Bluegrass Gentlemen released Going Back To Georgia in 1989. This group has some fine singing! There is an instrumental on here called Frosty Morning that they do a heck of a job on. Traditional bluegrass here, not a new grass sound in the bunch.

I'm not a Rihanna fan, and I don't particularly like this song either.But, it carries so many warm memories for me. Memories of him and I being us, such passion in our brown eyes,such love and fear and fearlessness all at the same time. This song reminds me of nights in the t.v room and in room 601 where we danced with blankets and sheets in the air and not a single care, this song makes me smile from my heart.
