GATOR Training
Stands for ATTITUDEMaintaining and presenting a good attitude is the best way to give good customer service. If you've ever left a place and said "He/She had the personality of a snake" (which I have on more than one occasion.) then you what I'm talking about ,when it comes to good customer service. Again I'm not talking about that sickening sweet "Hi how are" stuff. I'm talking about someone who loves what they do and loves to interact with people. I have a child who up until a few years ago, loved people ,now in her teenage years she's decided that she hates people and wants to get a job where she doesn't have to interact with people on a daily basis. Good thing she wants to be a writer. Because she would never make it in a store of mine.If you come in to work with a sucky attitude that will transfer over to your daily interactions with people. It's also the fastest way to alienate customers. So ask yourself. Do you like people , do you like what your doing. If the answer is NO then find another job because retail and sales are not for you.

I don't mean that fake greeting like Dollar General who force all their employees at the register yell Hello from their register. This is just plain lame. Everyone knows it's fake.I'm taking about a sincere Hello or Good Morning. Just something to let the customer know they are not alone in your store. Let me tell you about a game my 14 year plays at the mall. At the Disney store each kid walks in alone and walks to the back of the store and then back out without having a Disney employee say hello or greet them in some way. He who does this wins the games. Most of the time nobody wins because Disney folks are always there for you and know how important customer service is to their store. If the kids played this game in your store would they win every time? Think about it. BTW - acknowledging the customer is also one of the best shoplifting deterrents who have at your dis
