I’ve been wanting to build a version of Full Frontal’s Sinanju for a while, but the RG seems like a nightmare, and the MGs come off as kind of fragile when looking at what’s generally said online. I know the HG is mostly fine, but I feel like it’s a mobile suit where I’d enjoy the greater detail. What are your thoughts on the different kits if you have any?
I haven’t built a Sinanju yet bc, you’re correct, the kits out are a bit finicky. The biggest issue with the RG is that they tried to stack too much onto a small frame (that being the Gundam MkII frame…a MUCH smaller kit) and that causes the waist joint to become overburdened and prone to snapping.
Now if you’re willing to invest a little more into that kit I know there’s some metal replacement parts and you can simple swap those and get the RG look.
As for the MG’s I think a little extra work might go a long way. When it comes to floppy or loose bits a little cement or nail polish can tighten loose joints and hold down any loose parts. I wouldn’t be afraid to go the extra mile for the MG simple bc I think it would have the best shelf presence especially if you really like the extra flair the Sinanju has.
If you REALLY want it to shine you could try a reverse wash on the black/gold parts to really bring out that detail. Practicing on the HG first might be a good idea.
Good luck and post pictures!!
