Major congratulations are in order now that one of our favorite rising producers has released his debut album! Aash Mehta, an SF transplant who now lives in the windy city of Chicago, has been a mainstay on IHM for three long and fruitful years. While the artist has thrilled us with a number of magnificent remixes in the past, it’s his collection of emotive originals that we recall most fondly. Aside from his production prowess, Aash Mehta has a sharp knack for weaving deep meaning and moving missives into the fabric of his songs. And now he’s released Discover Infinity, a twelve track voyage that starts off, as he describes it, soft and lighthearted, before moving into more darker themes before eventually finding its way back. Earlier this month, we featured album track Silver Linings, featuring Lydia Kelly, and we floated on cloud nine alongside Aash and his exquisite future bass aria. Today, let’s turn our attention to track number four, Believe In Love, featuring Gavin Garris. As always, there’s an orchestral elegance to Aash Mehta’s composition, and a lithe aerial beauty to the lavish future bass and chill trap song. Gavin Garris’ smooth vocals blends right in with the song’s nimble flickers and atmospheric pauses, culminating in a warm lifting track with a sanguine, bright-eyed glow. Here’s what the producer had to say about his meticulously crafted full length: "For the longest time, I've been fascinated by the concept of 'infinity'. It's something that people have spent their whole life trying to understand, yet it in the end, it is incomprehensible. In that way, I've found that it is pretty similar to life in general. We never truly understand why certain things happen, nor do we ever truly know what to expect in our future. What we do understand though, is always in terms of moments. Moments of love, but also pain; moments of acceptance, but also loneliness; moments of tranquility, but also chaos; moments of courage, but also fear. It is in these moments that we find our own meaning to 'infinity'. Each song on this album, in its own way, has allowed me to discover my own 'infinity'. I hope in some way, big or small, it helps you discover yours."
