“Whistle” is an upbeat, melodic trap track that shows off Wildkid’s knack for creating top class original productions. Beginning with warm atmospheres and plucky melodies laced above smooth chord progressions, Wildkid quickly creates energy with a steady build up before dropping us into a perfectly-executed melodic trap drop with soaring melodies and strong drum tracks. A short second breakdown reintroduces some awesome melodies before quickly giving way to another steady build and uplifting trap drop rounding out a terrific effort and solid original production. It’s a big news day for Colorado livetronica legends Big Gigantic, who’ve now unveiled that they’ve signed to Counter Records! And to celebrate, the Boulder-based duo have shared a brand new single named You’re The One, featuring ever gorgeous vocals from ubiquitous top-line sensation Nevve. You’re The One is a beautifully ethereal, melodiously sonorous song and Big Gigantic’s first original work in several years. They sling plenty of their signature brass on the track, giving us a mix of Flume-like futuristic vibes and Diplo-like dance meters. Big Gigantic kicked off its release with an uplifting campaign where fans were encouraged to share what they love about themselves, too. The pair states: "We're so excited to start this next phase of Big Gigantic. We're starting the process of looking directly inward with our song 'You're The One'. The theme of the song is loving yourself, which in this day is something we could all do more of. Harry Bauer Rodrigues, the Philadelphia trap, hip hop, and grime producer better known as Baauer, has unleashed a music video for his latest track, Company, which features Danish chanteuse Soleima. Baauer has come a long way from the viral days of Harlem Shake. In fact, Company is night and day when compared to that earth shaking anthem. The producer goes a bubbly effervescent, sparsely melodic route on the fluorescent future pop song, whose video was animated by Jonathan Zawada. Together, they explore isolation and loneliness, which seem to go hand in hand with the digital age we live in. We crave human contact, but can robotic contact and the internet suffice? Chris Siegel, a production artist from Milwaukee who’s also one half of electronic duo Kiings, serves up sublime sonic euphoria on his new single I Can’t, featuring enchanting vocals by fellow Wisconsinite, lulunah. Her voice flitters whimsically over a bed of celestial future beats and Sylvan Esso like vocal loops. Though I Can’t is an airy effervescent dalliance, it also packs it in on the emotion, being the disconsolate breakup song that it is. With its playful glimmers and resilient bounces, Siegel and lulunah give us the strength we need to power forth through the turbulent affairs of our hearts. Though many an accomplished and prolific producer originally hailed from San Francisco, the electronic scene here hasn’t exactly been the most fruitful of all things lately. Fortunately for us, we have our very own king of production to keep the local scene on the forefront of cutting edge dance music, and his name is HIGHSOCIETY. The ascending talent has melted our faces and jolted us to no end with his high energy, heavy hitting anthems of yore, but he returns today with a new song named Like Hell, which despite its name, is quite the divinely euphonic, heavenly enthralling aria. Sunnie Williams enchants us with her lithe and nimble vocal performance on the melodic trap anthem, a celestial twinkling yet vibrant thrumming beaut with a bittersweet undertone that showcases a more reflective and sentimental side to HIGHSOCIETY’s production forte. Sinful hell is supposed to be hedonistic, a place for self-indulgent, pleasure-seeking souls. HIGHSOCIETY provides a torrent of pleasure with Like Hell. Who wants to go to heaven when hell might be this rapturous? Maybe we’ll get to dance all day long there to the producer’s music.
