"Hey kiddo, are you alright?" Gavin asked gently as he approached Hannah. "Do you need help? I can help you. I'm a detective, see?". He held out his badge for the child to see. He couldn't see her face but he knew she must be scared, right? Right? What kid wouldn't be if they were all alone and a stranger talked to them? Anyone who had seen or knew him at work otherwise might be surprised by how soft the typically asshole detective could really be. Gavin was off the clock but he had to stop. The girl all alone caught his eye and he couldn't just let her keep going all by herself. Where the hell were her parents?
