“Where in your life are incompletions robbing you of positive energy? To help you see, please answer the following life-changing questions.
What feelings have I separated myself from?
What relationships have I left incomplete?
What do I need to do to complete them?
What agreements have I broken and not cleaned up?
What have I said I would do that I have not done?
What have I agreed not to do that I have done?
What communications have I left unsaid?
What have I started and not finished?
To whom do I owe money?
Whom do I need to forgive?
To whom do I owe appreciation?
The last two questions are particularly powerful. In order to complete your relationship with the past you need to express forgiveness and appreciation to those who have given you a boost, even if they also wounded you. In therapy we have seen hundreds of people’s lives change right after they forgave and appreciated someone from the past. When you hold tightly to old anger and withhold your expressions of appreciation, you have no breathing space, no room for positive energy to flow through you. The moment you forgive and say “thank you” a relief flows through you, bringing fresh energy that propels you forward”
