Demons ll Haar & Sephiran

Just another day on the job.  He had gotten a few orders for deliveries for one town in particular. He landed in town and on foot walked each delivery to its home, his dragon following on foot behind him. Finally he came to the last of the day. His dragon laid patiently in the street outside the Inn as he entered. 

Haar headed up to the counter, leaning against the counter top and placing the package beside him while he awaited service.  He let out a long yawn as he looked around. It seemed like a nice enough Inn...He idly pushed his hand into his bag, blindly feeling the coins he had on him from his deliveries, wondering if he had enough to afford a room.

Careful Fear and Dead Devotion || Zelgius and Sephiran

For so many years of his life, Zelgius believed that it was the support and care of his master that kept him strong and willing to fight on. He knew Sephiran did not see things the same way, but it was beyond doubt that the amount he did for the knight was, though greatly appreciated, unnecessary. 

Zelgius' feelings for the man had grown much stronger as the years passed. Sephiran was the one thing that remained constant in the knight's life, and though it was something that Zelgius would never easily admit, there was something... alluring about his master.

He wished to express his feelings and his thanks to Sephiran plenty of times before, but the man never interpreted Zelgius' words or actions in a way beyond a pupil's appreciation for his master. After their years apart, and with Sephiran wanting to form their relationship to more of one between friends, the knight new that if there was anytime to move forward it was now.

So Zelgius awoke earlier than usual that morning, making sure that it was well before his master's usual time to rise. He spent that morning preparing a nice meal for him, hoping to surprise him.

With breakfast prepared and tea brewing, Zelgius entered his master's chamber. He waited by the door with uncertainty. The last thing he wanted was to disturb Sephiran in any way.

"I have seen she has retained her standing as Begnion’s ruler. I just… Wish to know if she’s happy. "

"She's been doing fine after everything that's happened if that satisfies your curiosity." His response was sharp and quick to the point. "Strange that you'd come here all of a sudden... Zelgius was wondering where you were earlier."

Sephiran swooped upon the knight in an instant. He frowned, hands resting on his hips as he looked up at Zelgius. If he still had his wings, they would have been spread and bristling, for sure.

"You haven’t the weight to lose. I know very well how hard you train, and the chores you’ve been completing behind my back to assure my comfort have not gone unnoticed. If you intend to help me, I will not stop you, but if you continue to neglect yourself, by Ashunera’s name, I will sit with you at morning, midday, and evening to ensure you are eating properly. Understood?”

If there was anything Zelgius hadn't expected, it was this harsh of a reaction. But he supposed it was foolish to think he'd respond any differently, all things considered. This was a subject that would have to be stepped around carefully.

"I apologize, my master... I was so thrilled to be in your presence that I must not have been thinking straight. I will do what it takes to return to a healthier weight for you..."

He couldn't deny that he enjoyed the thought of joining Sephiran for each meal, though.
