“Go Big or Go Home” Challenge©
This post will probably won’t be read by others. Go Big or Go Home challenge is a 1-month challenge. It is more of a personal project that I am undertaking to accelerate and make myself consistent with learning Spanish language and studying for my big college entrance test.
So what I am going to do under this 1 month challenge is schedule and complete my weekly goals, track myself and improve my productivity gradually. I have divided my challenge into 2 parts : Part A - studying for test/academics and Part B - learning language. I have my personal reasons as to why I want to do these tasks, and I am also gonna include those.
Part A - Studying For The Test
#Goal - 1) Get into a good college with an awesome Aerospace Engg. department.
2) This is my fInal attempt to sit for the college admission test.
This one is more time taking. I have been procrastinating like hell on my studies, and piled up entire revision in 3 subjects - math, physics and chem. So I might just fail or leave the challenge in the middle because of my past failures with challenges and self-doubt. However, I will push myself and exercise a bit of will power to stay on the track. The plan for this part of the challenge is :
I have 3 lists for each subject = 3 x 3 = 9 lists. Now, each list is made as per the my preparation level in lessons/chapters. So, List A - easy, List B - medium/half studied, List C - difficult/untouched lessons.
For each 2-days period, I will pick up one list in each of three subjects, and try to revise/study as many lessons as I can. Then I will keep on changing the lists for each 3 subjects after 2 days until I have studied everything by the end of 31 days (1 month). In brief, I will have three lists to study from daily, and the 3 lists change after 2 days.
> for example - I am gonna take list B in chemistry, list B in math and list A in physics for tomorrow and day after tomorrow. Then I will have a new set of lists after these 2 days.
Part B - Learning Spanish (as my 3rd language)
#Goal - 1) I want to surprise my partner.
2) I want to know more about Hispanic culture (preferably) in art, literature and buildings.
3) I am travelling to Spain in 4 years.
I think I picked up this language in 2019 (forgot the month), but got bored at my attempts within just 2 weeks. In Dec 2019, I decided to give language-learning another try. I was doing fair for two months until I realized I am very behind, when I imagined myself as barely having A1 level by the year 2020. So I am gonna include this endeavor too in my challenge as well. I wanna focus with a goal in my head while I learn Spanish every day, so that I can track my progress accurately and figure out the improvements needed.
So, the plan is very much laid out for this.
// week 1 - learning useful travelling phrases, conversation phrases, greeting, salutations, general phrases used in daily life and different occasions.
// week 2 - verbs, tenses
// week 3- nouns, pronouns, adjectives
// week 4 - prepositions, conjunctions, adverbs
// week 5 - oral movements study, listening comprehension
I will try to look up for a proficiency test for A1 learners and post my result at the end of 31 days.
That is all I planned for my challenge. The basic layout will not change to prevent myself from finding excuses and teaching me to practice self discipline throughout the challenge. I will keep posting my weekly progress and updates on my blog, and all those 5 posts will serve as evidence of my participation, accountability and completion of my challenge.
