easy, that is what it had been, completely and utterly simple -- as if the task had been given to a two year old. slipping up the outer edge of the building, climbing silently over the metal railings of barren balconies, his attention had been solely focused on the very top, a dark apartment, with the light flutter of a transparent curtain lingering in the winter breeze and dots of snow. he likes it more when he had the chance to break in, simply because that was his job, but he would opt for these too, it did make his life somewhat easier. stepping onto the landing with nothing higher than a whisper, he slipped through the ajar door, dark eyes scanning the room as leather gloved hands pulled the specially equipped goggles over his eyes. he pressed a button and suddenly the dark room lit up for him only. "piece of cake," his breathed out in almost a sigh like manner, his attention darting around the room he'd entered, taking it all in within a second. after pottering around for what seemed like a minute of two, he'd found nothing and moved onto the next room. he found himself wondering where exactly his host was. it must of been the early hours of the morning, why had he not seemed a lump of blankets lost to a peaceful slumber in the bed as he passed by. shaking it from his train of thought, he slipped into the bathroom, fingers tapping lightly against the door frame as he stared up at the large mirror. "if i were hiding something, where would i be?" he almost sang out in a muted song, attention focused on the quite large vanity. it didn't seem like a second longer before he found a drawer and tugged it open, "what the..." he pulled the goggles up, pushing them to their place atop of his head where they cleverly appeared as cat ears, "cigarettes," he reached out, gloves fingers brushing against them for a moment before he pushed it to the side, "a ha!" he almost cursed at himself for being so loud, but his attention seemed lost as he came upon the sight of something he had not been expecting. a familiar blood red mask --
