Hey! I've heard from Luci (aka our pookie @belimah ) that you have a theory about GCSWM Sukuna and TTTM Sukuna being the same person and now I'm really curious about how, bc it got me thinking as well👀👀 So if you want please do share the theory 👀

Ngl I nearly forgot about the theory BUT I'm glad you brought it up. Be prepared to put on your thinking cap for me because I don't have one, haven't really explored this theory and I'm quite bad at explaining how it works

Okay, my idea is that despite obviously the story's being different and the bodies being mostly different¹, the soul is the same between TttM and GCSWM.

I say this because between the two story's, Sukuna still reserves his inhibitions for eating people and wanting power/control (by way of Ryomen Gastronomy Group OR mind games by way of incest and stalking), and also liking Mei³.

TttM takes place at some point in the near-but-far future and after a climate collapse. So with the extinction of regular meat animals at the least, people in TttM most likely have a different biology than people today

GCSWM takes place today, I'm pretty sure, and Sukuna has gone to prison in which he shaped his body while living confined.

Mei is just the name I now use for Sukuna's Y/Ns. Since she has a name (that she gave herself mind you 🤏🏾🤏🏾🎀🎀) I can't think of them as regular reader inserts anymore

They share canon events

Unfortunately I can really only think of 2 because there is a disparaging runtime between stories (pos)

Loses the right eye in some way, shape or form

Finding Mei and falling for her/becoming obsessed with her/etc.

Both share the same traits (nonphysical)

Economical in interactions - they only give enough to get exactly what they want (especially when talking)

They do a lot of "research" on potential victims/dishes -

in TttM; background feed checks, changing small things the week before serving

In GCSWM, stalking mostly, taking the time to understand the dish's routine

They both like to toy with their food sometimes

In some weird sort of way, @belimah 's Sukuna's are like Spiderman to me. Theoretically they're the same person but the biology, environmental factors are so different that they have to be different but also one in the same

Same Guy, Different story

Tainted to the Marrow / God Can't Save What's Mine, Batch 1

Guys, GCSWM is such a weird freaky ass read. (Still love it 💔🥀)

This one comes with the smallest headcannon side tangent possible:

- Aside from the fact that TttM & GCSWM are both Sukuna fanfiction AU's- I FEEL like they're also AU's within themselves. Like alternative universe inception kinda thing.

- Like the Sukuna for both stories are not actually 2 separate Sukuna 's- BUT THE SAME SUKUNA just on different sides of the coin.

- Reasoning:

same goals and ambitions (generally, because TttM grew up wealthy and GCSWM did not),

fated to lose his right eye somehow,

same proclivity to fall obsessively for Mei (also technically YN but her name is Mei forever now),

Wants to keep her under their thumb but still get freaky and weird.

Side tangent over, I hate TttM's smile. He's a weirdo but I hate him less than freakazoid Unkuna

i LOVED god can’t save what’s mine! it was so scary and hot and gross and seductive and i was entranced in the world you created 😵‍💫

is there anything that could ever loosen his hold on her? some detective is smart enough to figure sukuna out, kidnaps and puts her in a psychiatric ward? or she gets pregnant and comes to the realization that her baby would be in huge danger? or she goes on a run one day and her legs carry her to a car and she drives across the country without really thinking about what she’s doing?

You'll love to know the status of it is Ongoing still after all. Because I do have plans for the continuation, they are all bad evil plans of course but nonetheless they will bring you more of your favorite uncle.

Mmmmm I don't believe there is. And it's not one sided, this I need you to understand, she is really into it all at this point in the story. She developed this sick crush on him when she was growing up, and he, as the adult, should have acted like it, but the man is really psychotic, are we expecting empathy or responsibility from him? He saw an opportunity and he obviously took it by the throat.

The list of crimes is really big, and he used to hunt people here and there for the love of the game, then kill and eat it, (miss mother always covering for her beloved brother, he's been a very good brother for her growing up as well, but that story can come as extra in the far future) he only tortured the ones he didn't intend to actually eat. He did make his sister taste human meat, and even reader before he went to prison, because hey, she didn't know that the barbecue meat wasn't a delicious wagyu cut.

The opportunity he took was honestly one to test a few things, including how far would his sister's loyalty go. That didn't really turn out that good, did it? Because now we know she was the one calling the cops. He also saw an opportunity to be worshipped by this young little lamb and the egotrip was amazing, lovely and sick to the hilt. At least he had the decency to wait for her eighteenth birthday, one less crime (not so much) for the list.

She would have to be really convinced that Sukuna doesn't rule over her, and who would convince her of that? The man spent so much time showing her he knows everything, he sees everything, he is the one sparing her day after day, and when she's no longer of use he's getting rid of her. This last part is the one she forgets constantly, of course, for her own sake. She's always under the delusion that he loves her. He lusts after her, sure, a good fuck is a good fuck, and he is very possessive of her, he knows how to get her exactly where he wants and how he wants, the precise softness that is good enough for him to have her agreeing to anything.

A good detective would take a few years, yeah, and I can see him trying exhaustively to save her. I can also see how exactly that would go, and boy oh boy, not very happy ending. Still I think it would be fun to follow them into a future life.

But it's okay, uncle will always take care of us.

Every day I debate reading god can't save what's mine and just enjoying it from an outside perspective so I can read peak media and see my son Sukuna be his freaky self...

You can enjoy it as Reader being an OC (all of my readers are OCs in my heads,I have them figured out, their backstory, their little shenanigans, but use second person tense for convenience ngl) and how Sukuna fucks her up since the beginning of it all 🙂‍↕️ also I shouldn't miss that sukuna but DAMN I miss his bullshit

to be clear, it sucks that your friend was harassed for writing uncle sukuna and i wish it hadn’t happened.

however, it birthed a captivating work of art in “god can’t save what’s mine” and i cannot stop thinking about it. it’s up there with chuck panahnuik’s “zombies” for me in how it makes me sit in discomfort and contemplate the in-world set of circumstances it took to create these characters, their actions, their relationship with each other and society, and the potential inevitability of it all. amazing work.

And honestly sometimes to have incredible plots (fucked up though) we have to have lived some odd shit. And consumed some very very disturbing things growing up. It's not worthy, I think, because no kid should consume horror growing up, it changes your brain and gives you the superpower of anxiety, BUT at least I also have the superpower of giving people some discomfort through a few letters and words and phrases aligned in certain ways 🤲🏻🙂‍↕️

GCSWM is not completed, though, and I don't know when it will be. I have some ideas for it but I think I will make them live on halloween and christmas once again, a tradition to live up to.
