A gloriously snowy and sunny trudge up a big white lumpy thing.....namely Geal Charn, a reclusive munro just south of Loch Laggan.
After such a grey, mild and murky winter, this walk really fired me up for a decent spring walking season on wintry hills......but this ended up being my final hillwalk before the Coronavirus restrictions took hold. Filmed just ten days before lockdown, this kind of freedom feels a whole lifetime ago now.
Everything's got a bit weird....so I'm going back to my happy place - Last Friday on Geal Charn :) It was easily the day of the season for me, what with deep snow, bright sunshine, and very little wind. Scotland looks its absolute best in these conditions, it's just such a shame they're so rare!
It doesn't happen often, but when a dozen different variables all come together to make the perfect snowshoe conditions, it's the best feeling in the world.
Filmed on Geal Charn on 13th March, just three days before things started to get a bit weird, that day is now even more precious than it already was. Seems a lifetime ago!
