I'm not much of a cook, but in honor of Deadspin's Foodspin episode from my home state of Pennsylvania, I decided to try making the pumpkin thing they came up with there. I've been scarfing down fresh pumpkin dishes, so I had some puree ready anyway. It was for sure more time than I'm usually willing to spend on prep, which is my gripe with baking in general. Lots of ginger chopping and the squishing the cold butter crumble with my hands was tedious. Deadspin's "kill your loved ones with butter" joke is no lie, it's best to just not think about it. Oh man, you guys, it turned out warm and rich and decadent AF, I wanted to breathe heavily and slather it all over myself like Hedonism Bot.
