Being the only two people who aren’t drunk at a party so they start talking
Parties. Places where people go to meet other people and dance and talk loudly over a too loud music. And obviously, there’s alcohol. A lot of alcohol. Too much alcohol. Gaeul sighed as she watched a young man - no more than twenty years old - passing out on the floor next to the wall she was standing at, trying to protect herself from terrible breaths smells and even worse pick up lines. She didn’t understand what was the fun in getting drunk to the point of throwing up or forgetting what happened. Well, she couldn’t say that she was an alcohol and party kind of girl anyway but she definitely felt a gap between her and the other people in the house. Which was nothing surprising. Braving herself to walk through the crowd to reach the garden because she was suffocating inside, she carefully held her bottle of soda in her hands and made her way towards the doors that led outside. She couldn’t even leave because she was here for researches, for her own understanding of the world and, truth to be told, people talked more easily when they were drunk. Not that she wanted to know about their secrets or the bad things they did in the past, but she thought that they weren’t going to think she was that weird by asking them that famous questions: “Who are you?”She took in a deep breath of fresh air as soon as she was outside and she ended up coughing her lungs out because there were smokers everywhere: this was something she couldn’t understand. Why would they pay for something that would eventually kill them? Smoking didn’t even bring any kind of pleasure, just less stress, maybe. Her nose wrinkled up in disgust as she stepped around before she, inevitably, bumped against someone and made them spill their drink. Awe to the some."I’m sorry! I didn’t watch where I was walking because I was too focused on trying not to inhale any smoke which, just saying, was difficult because they’re smoking everywhere and it’s like there’s a cloud of smoke surrounding the house. I’m not really inclined to die tonight or anytime soon especially as Christmas is just around a corner and I have my first Christmas party to attend which I’m pretty sure will not be like this party. Anyway!” She cleared her throat and finally looked up at the person she was babbling to. He was tall. And surprisingly seemed sober. “You’re not drunk.” She stated, closing her eyes soon after. “I’m so sorry, this was innappropriate, you can do whatever you want. This is what people do at parties, anyway, right? They do what they want and I wasn’t judging you or anything, actually I feel relieved to have bumped into probably the only other sober person of the party and I’m totally babbling, which will stop. In 3…2…1.” And Gaeul thought at this moment that she should stop drinking soda at parties. Or even stop going to parties. Or stop breathing, or like, she could take a deep breath of the ciggarette smoke and die, that’d be helpful, right now.
