"A Gefreiter from an unidentified Bavarian regiment dwarfs his comrades for a humorous photograph to be sold in kantines from Ostend to the Vosges.
The tall fellow has a condition known as Acromegaly, a syndrome that results when the anterior pituitary gland produces excess growth hormone. One of the best known people with this condition is the actor Richard Kiel who played 'Jaws' in the James Bond films the Spy who loved me (1977) and Moonraker (1979)."
