It wasn't uncommon to have robot companions, especially with how versatile they can be (in occupation and size)
For example, the 18' Jumbo-Guard™️ Personal Defense Security Droid model wasn't unheard of for those who worried constantly. For these anxious admins, the bots also tended to have motherly tendencies, to help soothe them. Combined with extra gel to simultaneously provide a more comforting figure, as well as a better endurance should anything happen.
Unfortunately there is small kink in the programming where the caring capabilities overtune themselves and the bots become a little obsessive: keeping their fragile organic partners close to themselves at all time. Smothering them both with mothering and with the (incredibly comforting) gel pads. At least no fatalities have been caused, thankfully. Shows they can never be too safe, y'know.

It's sometimes hard to feel panic of fear of suffocating when such kind hands and soft, lovely gel breasts are enveloping and smothering your head completely. It's like you're submerged in a sea of comfort with these bots.
The adapted sensitivity to the admin's anxiety and needs is what sets these bots apart from what could actually be a dangerous obsession. They make sure that no harm can be caused to their admin masters. After all, that's why they are Defense and Security builds.
One recent case had a home intruder put the home owner in danger, however, the bulletproof, highly resistant gel and materials of the security bot quickly protected the admin and defended against the intruder - threatening with big steps that shook the ground, before grabbing them, disarming them, and taping them to a wall, all while instantly calling the authorities. Then, when they arrived, they would not only see the potential robber, but the massive, motherly, extremely 'chubby' and voluptuous droid cuddling and comforting the admin, making sure they wouldn't end up panicky or traumatised by this difficult experience. The embarrassed admin would thank the authorities just like they thanked the bot later.
The bot did not have emotions and didn't feel happy for protecting their master, or that they were thanked, but were still diligent in their duty. Instead they continued pampering the admin for the rest of the night, who instead of sleeping in their normal bed, slept in an expanded gel form of the droid, serving as a very cuddly, soft bed...
