In the game we have a message saying Monty keeps missing rehearsals and keeps going back to the catwalks, and honestly it makes me think that he didn't even WANT to be a bassist. -- Just wanted to start a chill discussion about that, I feel people aren't talking about that at all!

also also i love how monty straight up doesn't care about showing up for rehearsals n shit?? like yeah its a dick thing to do obviously but it makes me think that like.. maybe he just stopped listening to them after he got his claws? like he already didn't really care before, but once he figured out how easily his claws destroyed shit he kinda realised that no one could really force him to do anything anymore bc a) he's like a 500 pound robot and b) he could just fuck them up with his claws anyways

ok so like. phobos is my favourite character in madcom aside from hank bc he's just,, so appealing for some reason?? like in MPN2 all we rlly know about him is that he's this self-absorbed bastard who's obsessed with becoming a literal god. he's not terribly fleshed out in canon outside of his motives so he's basically a blank slate for me to play with n i have SO many hcs for him it's not even funny lmFAO

like one of my favourites for him is that his obsession with becoming a god stemmed from him being super insecure abt his skills and being fucking terrified that he wasn't/isn't good enough. so to cope w that he adopted this arrogant, narcissistic persona and hid behind it to keep ppl off his back. and eventually he was like "i mean. if i was as powerful as a god these people wouldn't even consider questioning me would they??" so he doubled down on it in the hopes it'd make himself seem more elevated & respectable as he schemed.

naturally that totally backfired on him, bc of course it did lmao. maintaining a false persona for that long made him completely lose himself, to the point where current phobos genuinely has no idea how he used to act and can't figure out how to stop being a fabricated version of himself. but he still avidly pursues his original goal because hey, that's nothing a little godhood can't fix, right?
