She’s an Eagle!
when Gemma gets a full ride to Boston college!

Gemma laid on her sisters bed, something she does when one of the siblings is gone for a long period of time, in this case, grace is back at school so Gemma will spend time in her room to bring her comfort when she’s bored.
Will was supposed to be coming home later that evening, so she planned to make him take her to jersey mikes,
“Gemma can you go get the mail” Colleen asks as she walks by, unphased at her being in the eldest’s room.
“But wills almost here, we’re going out” she hums, adjusting her spot on the bed to face her mom.
“I think you can walk to the mail box and back in 5 minutes gem”
“Not in the snow” she mumbles.
“Gemma Rae” Colleen raises an eyebrow at her, which instantly makes her stand up.
“going now” she smiles and places a kiss on her cheek before sprinting down the stairs to slip on her uggs, jacket and a beanie.
She grabbed keys and jogged out the door just as will was pulling in.
“Moms making me get the mail, I’ll be back in a minute” she shouts and begins jogging down the -thankfully plowed- sidewalk, so fast she didn’t even notice Ryan was in the car with him.
She quickly walked back and flipped through all the envelopes, but she froze at the end of the driveway when was addressed to her from Boston college.
“did your feet stop working?” Her dad called from the front door.
“Call grace!” She exclaims and runs in the house.
“Mom! Will! Come to the dining room! Dad call grace!”
“okay I am what’s going on” He says, Colleen, will and Ryan all ushered into the room, sitting around her.
“Hey dad” graces voice is heard from the phone before Gemma grabbed it and propped it up.
“I got a letter, from bc” she smiles eagerly, those words perked Ryan and will right up, as they leaned in closer, will now sitting next to her.
“Open it!” She ushered her baby sister, Colleen stood behind her with a hand on her back.
She slid her nail through the envelope and quickly pulled open the paper, grazing over the words till she read “congratulations..” and she shoe staright up.
“I got in!” She jumped, hugging her mom.
The family’s cheers erupted through the house, especially from Ryan and will, that the smith legacy will live on at bc, for the 15th person.
she stopped and actually read the rest of it, where she found it it’s on a full scholarship for hockey.
“Full Ride?!” She exclaims as her jaw drops, then her dad comes over to read it.
“We got another bc hockey player in the house” he cheers and hugs her.
“sucks wills leaving before you get there, but that’s so exciting.”
“I think she’s glad we aren’t there at the same time, remember what happened last time we were on a team together” will chuckles, which makes her laugh at the memory.
“Okay I have to go to class, but gem I love you and I’m so so proud of you, bye guys”
“Bye grace”
Later that evening, the -now 3- bc students went out to get jersey Mike’s and drove around.
