✨ Step Into the Story of Egypt… One Hall at a Time 🇪🇬
You arrive at the gates of the Grand Egyptian Museum, standing face to face with the largest archaeological museum in the world. Behind you, the Pyramids of Giza rise proudly — and ahead, Egypt’s past is ready to speak.
🚪 The Entrance & The Hanging Obelisk
Before stepping inside, your eyes catch a breathtaking sight — a 90-ton granite obelisk from the time of Ramses II, now suspended above the ground. For the first time ever, you can walk underneath an obelisk and admire its ancient hieroglyphs from below.
⬆️ The Grand Staircase
As you enter, a colossal statue of Ramses II greets you at the Grand Staircase. Around him, monumental kings and queens of Egypt stand silent, as if watching you begin your journey through time.
🏛️ Inside the Museum
Covering more than 100,000 square meters, the museum is a world of its own — exhibition halls, library, conference center, restoration labs, restaurants, and shops.
You realize it’s not just a museum… it’s an entire city of history.
🧭 The Pathways of Time
You can explore in three ways:
* The Chronological Path takes you from prehistory to the Roman period.
* The Thematic Path dives into beliefs, kingship, and society.
* The Iconic Path leads you to Egypt’s most famous treasures.
Each gallery — twelve in total — tells a different part of Egypt’s story:
From ancient beliefs and royal life to the everyday world of craftsmen, farmers, and priests.
🔬 The Restoration Center
Beneath your feet, 10 meters underground, scientists work silently in 19 specialized labs — bringing broken relics back to life.
Wooden coffins, stone statues, fragile mummies — all are carefully restored through a 300-meter tunnel connecting directly to the museum.
It’s Egypt’s heart of preservation — a place where time is reversed.
👑 The Tutankhamun Halls
And then, you reach the crown jewel — two entire halls dedicated to King Tutankhamun, where over 5,000 treasures from his tomb are displayed together for the first time since their discovery.
📸 Your Final Glance
As you step back outside, the Pyramids shimmer in the distance — a reminder that the Grand Egyptian Museum isn’t just about what’s behind glass… It’s about a civilization that still lives on.
