This place was massive, but she hadn’t stopped searching. If the chance was there, she’d never stop. She was frustrated, she was growing more impatient by the minute, but she wouldn’t stop. She couldn’t stop until her goal was reached.
Or that’s what she’d like, but even the leader had her limits. Too much negativity pent up inside her would lead to a disaster, this she knew. So with some reluctance, she took a moment for herself
It had turned out an entire section of this prison was dedicated to nature. This was more than welcome. She never particularly liked big cities, and they certainly weren't ideal for sorting one's thoughts. So she sat, counting the seconds, amongst a patch of petunias. She let herself focus on the numbers, let time tick by. The gem felt tension in her slacken and the knots inside unfurl. Steadily, serenity replaced worry. Calm replaced agitation. Peace trickled down and through to the tips of her fingers.
Then a noise behind her snapped her back to attention.
On instinct, she tried to look forward, only to remember with irritancy that they'd taken her clairvoyance. Her hands curled into fists. She had to address them.
"I know you're there. Come out." She called and turned just enough to look behind her. Hopefully, they weren't looking for a fight.
