So I've been doing some organizing and researching. It originated because if we for example counted every variety of quartz as a separate gemstone, none of them would reach enough submissions to get in. During my research, I learned that amethyst is actually a variation of quartz. I was planning to hold polls to decide which variety of quartz should represent quartz for this poll. So I present a question.

For the purposes of this bracket should amethyst be grouped in with the other quartz varieties?

Amethyst should compete on its own

Amethyst should go into the preliminary poll for varieties of quartz
