#gender objectification

Under no circumstances am I saying this is wrong, I mean come on, toys are toys. What annoys me is that people keep pointing it out saying how "he's a boy and playing with toys for girls" or the all to well "but he's a boy" and I'm like thinking in my head:

So what if he's a boy? Girls play with firetrucks and dinosaurs, are they suddenly weird too then? As long as he's not going around killing other kids I don't see how, him being a boy, should reflect with the things he likes.

Kids are on a journey of self discovery ever since they were born. If he wants to play with dolls and make up, let him. If he decides in a few years that it's not for him then so be it.

Seriously, people should be more open-minded.

I have a massive favour guys

So basically, I'm doing this presentation for one of my subjects and it's about objectification. I wondered if you could help me by just replying to this in my ask box maybe..?

If there was ever a situation in which you felt objectified due to your gender, could you let me know and say how that made you feel? It can be anything as simple as a stupid comment about your body that made you think that it's all others ever notice about you or just anything really...

If you wanna keep it anonymous then be my guest, I just need it to make a point in my presentation, so I won't even make it public on tumblr. And please do help me, I'd really appreciate it. It's 50% of my overall grade at the end of the school year and it's really important to me, so pretty pretty please?
