You Learn Something New Everyday
So, today. . my friend told me about a person in her class. This person was born a girl, but does not identify as a girl. This person also does not like to be called by their birth name. They prefer to be called by a name that they chose that isn't or doesn't seem gender specific. If you cannot tell yet, this person ALSO doesn't identify as male. They identify with being human, and does not recognize any gender based pronoun. This being the early history of seriously recognizing pronouns, I had never really heard of someone not identifying with being male or female. At the least I can say that this has befuddled me. When I first heard this my response was very ignorant to say the least , but at this moment I am very curious. With a open mind devoid of judgment if you are someone or know someone who does not identify with gender could you please further explain your feeling/reasoning/"place" when it comes to not identifying as a gender.
