So this is the final outcome for how I’d want my everyday sexism book to be printed, unfortunately I have had not had the time to develop this project how I would like to, but this shows the idea, and the thought process behind it. I really like the idea behind it and the issues it is addressing and I would like to continue to develop this project further after the deadline and actually get it bound on a5 how i would have liked to if I’d have had enough time.

This mock up shows how personal this piece is and due to the nature of it, it should really connect on a deeper level with the audience and really make them consider the view point of the the messages that have been received as the victim of sexism. By bringing attention to the issue, that is the first step in engaging in change.

These are completed pages for my sexism everyday book, as you can see they are pretty brutal, but that’s the point I want to convey, it’s realism, it happens everyday and we still in the 21st century have to face issues like this on a day to day basis.

So moving on from the poster series to raise awareness on sexism campaign. I decided to experiment with creating a book on everyday sexism, that puts the individual in the position, where they experience sexism first hand.

The idea is I have subtly included images and text that have been received in day to day life involving sexism. I have left them as very vague, as this leaves it open to interpretation to the viewer themselves to make of it what they will. 

I feel this is a deeper and more meaningful way to raise awareness on this issue.

How To Design A Dating App That Empowers Women

Two Tinder alums, now with the dating app Bumble, discuss design, feminism, and intimacy in the Internet age.

I came across this article, that opens up a conversation about creating an app that empowers women, and that for change to be made we all need to be feminists and obviously this sparked inspiration considering I am doing a project about gender equality. 

I like how they use psychology quite heavily to justify motives that will actually genuinely make a change in gender roles and stereotypes. They appreciate the impact design has upon the project and that is also the tactic I am using to tackle this problem.

The UN Women imposed an international women’s day, this is now an annual day that will again be celebrated in March 2016, and this is my aim to create an awareness campaign for.
