Jaden Smith Is Challenging Gender Perceptions One Skirt-Wearing Campaign At A Time

Jaden Smith is the latest celebrity to talk out about gender fluidity. The 17-year-old recently sat down with GQ to voice his opinion on gender labels.
“I feel like people don't really get it,” he told the magazine. “I'm not saying that I get it, I'm just saying that I've never seen any distinction. I don't see man clothes and woman clothes, I just see scared people and comfortable people."

The teenager, who’s Will Smith and Jada Pinkett-Smith’s son, knows all about being questioned for his dress sense. He was thrown into the spotlight a few months back for wearing a skirt in a Louis Vuitton campaign.
He’s not afraid of breaking down the barriers of gender roles in style. And we have to admit that he wears that skirt pretty darn well. Plus, kilts have been worn for hundreds of years and they’re basically the same, so what’s the problem?

More and more brands are starting to release unisex collections, including Zara who unveiled their ‘Ungendered’ range earlier this month.
The question remains: In this day and age, do we really need a ‘womenswear’ and ‘menswear’ section? Women steal their boyfriend’s shirts and trackies all the time, so why shouldn’t men be able to don a skirt if they wish?
Jaden himself refuses to wear clothes primarily from the ‘mens’ section. "I really just want to create a utopia on this planet,” he said. “I really want to make it so that people don't have to die to pay bills and just work to survive. So that they can work to actually live and do the things that they love to do."

Free Tampons Are Now Available To Teens In NYC - But What About The Rest Of The World?
My friend is doing a short survey on gender labeling so if you have a minute, he’d appreciate some responses. Thanks!
In nature there are no labels. In nature gender and female aren't the only genders. There are more than that. So you could say not being either comes naturally.
