As someone who has learned knitting from youtube videos, googling, and sheer determination, the most helpful thing I have ever learned to enhance my knitting education is to stare at my work.
To stare at every mistake, every well executed stitch, every row and transition. To stare and stare until I get it.
It sounds so basic but the more you stop and study your own work, what you made with your own two hands, the more you can unravel everything in your head. It's not just about learning techniques, but truly understanding how those techniques fold into the bigger narrative of the piece.
