Did Wonder Woman ever have any pets?
Yes! She has a pet kanga (giant flying kangaroos found on Paradise Island) named Jumpa, first introduced in Sensation Comics #6:
Various animals submit to her loving authority, but Amazons keep kangas as pets and Jumpa is consistently Diana’s favorite. Diana later gifted her own daughter Lyta with two pet kangas as well.
Steve hasn’t had a pet, but he’s had an interesting *companion*: a gremlin named Glitch.
I have mixed feelings about this Gremlin, but most of them are good because #comics! Thanks for the question!
OH-H-H-H! It caught me by surprise as this blog was coasting on 200 followers for *years* but now HYST! has well over 2000 followers? Heck yeah! I’ll bet at least a hundred of them are *not* bots!
As a result, I’m feeling a little child-minded/celebratory and want to do one of those “get to know me” memes, but I’d rather answer anon questions from you (like, I’d much rather talk about favorite non-Wonder Woman comics than my star sign). I really love the way HG Peter contrasts the visible prisoners and the invisible Saturnites.
The second story starts slow but it does eventually pick up, and the presence of a lie detector early on strongly suggests Marston is writing this one. The story is also notable for an early refrence to the then new United Nations, which would go on to play a major role in the WW mythos.
The villain is Mephisto Saturno, the rogue from Saturn, who this time is trying to not only get revenge on Wonder Woman but also provoke another war. This time he’s figured out how to make his soldiers invisible, which makes it very hard for Steve and General Darnell to fight them.
