Podcast about generation 1.5 children ideas?

Hey everyone! So quick gist: I was born in the Philippines but moved to America at the age of 1 and was raised up here by pretty traditional, religious parents.

Now, being a child of the current society, I'm sure you can guess that that lifestyle is pretty difficult.

I have a podcast in mind to discuss what it's like being what I and my family consider 'Generation 1.5': where you're born one place and raised in another, or raised by parents essentially straight off their motherland.

Current society vs the culture and lifestyle your family presses on you, it can be quite pressuring!

So in regards to topics and content people would like to hear/ask about, have me discuss, or simply want to hear reassurance on, what are your thoughts?

Generation 1.5: the podcast about growing up in two different worlds

Hey everyone! So I posted the idea concept of this podcast earlier (literally the post right before this if you want to find) and I'm happy that you guys seem interested in it!

Generation 1.5: Born there, grown up here or raised up by born-there parents.

Some of you have shared some thoughts on what you'd like to hear about and here's a list of some talking points, and I'd love if you guys sent in some more! So that i can have an idea of what else to say :)

Talking points

- language barriers

- feeling out of place

- outside home vs inside home

- culture/tradition/ideals clash

- identity: which to identify as?

???: (standing up) i’m toby. i missed the induction day last month, but i’m in your politics class. the teacher sent me an email saying you would be able to catch me up on everything? austin: they did? toby: (laughing) yeah! she said she could already see you were going to be a ‘star pupil’ and said you would be able to help me out no problem! austin: (smirking) well, we were basically just introducing the idea of simspolitics and how the government is set up and - toby: woah man, slow down! sounds great, but i’m gonna need to make some notes before the lesson, so could we do it later? austin: we have it first... toby: well... we have about half an hour till the first lesson. the rest of our crew are sat inside, so we could do it now? my stuff is there so... austin: ...sure. toby: great! you could meet the guys too!

austin: you make protein shakes for fun? eldin: i make them for chad. i bake for fun. corey: eldin’s gonna be a chef. or a baker. or a chocolatier? or - eldin: i want to be a pâtissier. corey here, is hopefully going to be getting his facts straight by the time he graduates as he wants to be a scientist. corey: … i actually want to be some form of chemist but - eldin: (sighing) … what about you… austin is it? what do you want to do after high school?

toby: awwww… come on guys, i’m not that good… eldin: i swear you can play every instrument under the sun… i’m surprised the new guy here hasn’t heard you humming some abstract acoustic song yet! austin: well, now you come to mention it… all: (laughing) toby: it’s what i want to do, you know? music is my life - always has been, and i hope it always will be. nathan: you a true virtuoso, you’ll get in the business no problem! chad: a what? austin: it means someone who’s talented at music… chad: well, trust ‘mr i read books for fun’ to speak like shakespeare rather than godamn plain english…
