So many people claim themselves talented/special/an artist/a musician/an influencer so easy nowadays while most of them are not even close to any of those notions. There is a thick line between self-love and arrogance. We are beyond lost in this degenerate 21st century. It’s madness.

just realized the difference in generations

notice how Zoe refers to her grand mothers android like a person but he mother refers to her as an it.

like she uses the name she no doubt gave the android and then in the next picture actually refers to her gender.

then her mother is just so dismissive and like its and it its funny how the generations differ.

So something I realized recently. A couple years ago I found Nick Pitera, a ventriloquist singer on YouTube who I absolutely love, and for things I love I like to show them off.

So one morning before school my mom's boyfriend and I got talking about singers and I decided to show him Nick Pitera. I showed him "Disney Medley" and "Phantom of the Opera" to show Nick's vocal range.

My mom's boyfriend didn't really say much, a few words of surprise here and there, until my mom showed up. He called her over, pointed out Nick, and I'm over here thinking, "oh he's showing her this awesome singer". But no, he asked my mom what nationality Nick Pitera was. He thought Nick looked Greek or of Greek descent, and my mom thought he looked half Persian. That was what they cared about, not that he sang Christine amazingly. They then turn to me and ask if I knew (I didn't and still don't).

Now I'm here thinking why the hell are you paying attention to how he looks? Why does it matter if he's Greek or Persian or any nationality? Why are you focusing on whether or not he had a Greek nose and not on the fact he can flawlessly sing several different pitches? It was something that confused me, up until recently.

I'm not sure if it's true or if I'm on the right track, but I think the reason they looked at his race instead of his voice is because his race chose how great he was at singing. Which I, and others my generation (or at least the ones I know), don't care about. If we see a great singer, we see a voice and not an ethnicity. But my mom's era (probably not all of them though) see a voice and judges them off their race. It didn't matter if they were great, or the new King or Queen of a genre, their race changed how they reacted.

I can vouch this because at the end of the videos, before my mom's boyfriend went to work, he said he didn't much care for the songs, which wasn't completely true because he'd been humming along to the songs. And later, if they ever brought him up, they'd ask about the Greek singer. Not the ventriloquist or Disney or "Phantom of the Opera" singer, but the Greek singer. If I ever brought him up, they didn't know who I was talking about until I mentioned his physical features. It's just... Kinda disturbing how that's what they remembered, and not at all the original reason I showed them Nick Pitera. And I wanted to share this because it seemed like one of those things people experience commonly but have no idea about it.

(something I was reminded of because of my previous post)

so I was once playing cards against humanity online with my sister and her friends who where a lot younger than me and it was around about the time that alien isolation came out we could all hear each other so we where just talking over the microphone between levels loading etc....

then this friend of my sisters I think his name was Anthony or something goes to me through the microphone so your name is Ripley are you named after Amanda Ripley. Rather than be the responsible adult I was supposed to be (c'mon on I'm playing cards against humanity with a group of 16 year olds) and say well technically no because I'm named after her mother Ellen I yell at this 16 year through the microphone because I got offended and go

NO I'm not named after Amanda I'm named after her mother Ellen!

now that I have actually matured a bit I feel bad for yelling at him and realising not everyone had seen alien and that their also was massive generation difference between us so it wasn't his fault the only Ripley he heard of was Amanda rather than Ellen.

When are older generations of moviegoers gonna realize that most movies nowadays aren’t made for them. But. BECAUSE you guys throw hissy fits about wanting nostalgia, the more Hollywood starts caving and giving you guys what you want while us younger generations get stuck with the same material that’s been around for DECADES. Lemme just hold your hand and tell you that maybe it’s time to just rewatch your favorite old movies while the rest of us get to enjoy something new for once.

Myself and my husband are both from generation Y. Both of my kids are generation Z. All four of my grandparents are from the silent generation. My dad is from the baby boomer generation while my mom is from generation x.

I am convinced even from watching my grandparents that the marriage usually goes well if you both are from the same generation. My parents do not get along at all. They are from two very different generations. That explains so much to me. Say what you want but I have seen this proven with my own eyes.
