Kira couldn't remember a fight between her and Genesis in their entire friendship, even though they had known each other for years. Although there hadn't been a fight as such at the masquerade gala, the awkwardness and slight tension between the girls had grated on Kira so much that even the memory of it had her feeling guilty that she had reacted in such a way. They had been fine ever since but for Kira, it was with a renewed sense of just how important this friendship was for her and it was for that reason she had insisted Gen have the night free so they could go out.
Sitting at a high top table, cocktails on the table, Kira adjusted the thin strap of her dress as she looked across at her best friend. "So, plot twist. I actually went on that blind date you set me up on. I was late because my palms were so sweaty you could water ski on them, but I still went and it wasn't as awful as I was convinced it probably would be."
