Star Trek Lower Decks "Old Friends, New Planets"
Yo who wants to own the Genesis Device?
It's like the most beautiful yet cheap and tacky prop I have ever seen, no wonder they barely showed it

Confession #30
"Sometimes I wonder why some people blame Carol Marcus for the destructive power of the Genesis Device (when it was Khan and Kruge who misused its power, not Carol) but then I see that these people who blame Carol are a small number of bitter Kirk/La'an shippers. Guys, La'an was really mature about the way Kirk rejected her and probably wouldn't blame Carol for the Genesis Device, especially since she can empathize with her as being stigmatized as part of the infamous Noonien-Singh bloodline. If anything, Kirk is probably right about the two women being good friends. So guys, don't be an ass. Be like La'an and grow up."
Nick Locarno finally performed his Kolvoord Starburst.

Genesis Device by max kauffman
My own headcannon for why the genesis device was able to create an entire solar system: solar systems are (probably) formed by nebulas collapsing and accreting into stars and planets, so the genesis device being given an additional power boost by the warp core of the Reliant exploding as well gave it the extra oomph needed to kickstart the Mutara Nebula's process of collapse and accretion.
I mean... Star Trek nebulae aren't really like nebulae at all. Real life ones are incredibly diffuse, appearing as they do over distance and with NASA tweaking photos a little. But in Trek (and much of sci-fi), they're massive globs of space soup the ships fly though for fun submarine-ish adventures. So I guess they can work however the story needs them to🤷♂️
