If I was not at work I'd be unstoppable in drawing Scantily Clad Incubus Nun Lucienne. ALAS. I AM AT WORK AND THUS CANNOT DRAW MY SCANTILY CLAD INCUBUS NUN LUCIENNE. But perhaps when I'm done doing Produce Thangs I can draw a watered down/Less Scantily Clad version of him. Yesyes.

So ik I mentioned that even though Matthew's coin is half rusted, his friends still think he's beautiful

But they're still trying to clean the rust off of him

Which is weird to me because it's almost as if they're trying to clean it as if it's not rust. Like it's just really stubborn dirt.

But that's the complete opposite of what Thomas is doing to Alastair

Thomas is getting the proper materials to clean the rust, and he's patient with the cleaning. He celebrates every piece of shiny copper restored. Even when it's stubborn and hard, he still gently works at it, and expects nothing in return but the beauty of the coin underneath

People want to fix Matthew so he can be pretty again, so they can toss him away again. Thomas wants to restore Alastair for Alastair's sake, no one else's

Matthew doesn't hate the other side of his coin, he's just been told that the rust Alastair has is bad, because everyone wants to clean the same rust off of him

Alastair sees the rust on Matthew and knows that deep down some rust just can't be cleaned away, it stays forever. But Alastair has also been told that the rust covering him is bad, so Matthew must have it so much better because at least he has some shiny copper showing

But what no one sees is that the more people try to clean off the rust from Matthew, they also damage the copper and make things much much worse
