"See like, that's the thing. There's been a LOT of instances where the combination of my reflexes and simply knowing what happens next has saved my ass. It happens most out on the field. It's common to hear from people who narrowly avoided death describe the feeling like time around them had slowed down, that a mere second felt like minutes, or minutes felt like hours. The way my feet move under me at just the right moment where a stray bullet previously on it's way to catch the back of my head doesn’t get me. What I avoid doesn't sink in until after the fact, and I'm left at the end of the work night tallying up all the times I should have died that night but didn't.
Avoid them as much as I have and the instances all start to blur together. The moments that typically stand out to any other person and mean something.
It sucks. I wish I weren't acutely aware of how much I'm technically not supposed to be here, and it's hard to not get stuck in my own head about it. It's um. It's an eye opener.

► It's not that he's awful at cooking, he just hates having to cook. So much time spent trying to make a nice meal, but it doesn’t last nearly as long when he gets to eat it.
