One thing that I've noticed is that Patamon is always the one who evolves last
Evolve once? Final battle
After the tags and crests? Only at Piemon
Armor evolve? Same time as Hikari which was after the other three got theirs
Jogress? Him and Iori we're the last to do it
Unless I'm remembering wrong
I think there's a kind of sense that the holy Digimon are trump cards and power that can't be used lightly, so Takeru and Patamon are supposed to represent the sort of hidden final secret, the arguably most powerful one that's the most difficult and rare to obtain. I imagine Hikari would have been in a similar boat if not for her late (and originally unplanned) introduction. But also -- especially in 02's light -- Takeru is just really kind of an emotionally obtuse person, isn't he?
Hello Crystal, you deserve, so many hugs, believe me, my word is true
I don't understand...but thank you for your kind words...I just...I just can't bring myself to believe it...one minute I deserve nice things, the next it's hateful opinions and stars I'm just so done...I can't do it anymore..

I find ships where they're not really close fun. Like what causes them to get closer, what's that journey x). I actually don't have any Digimon ships but, Takeru and Daisuke is pretty interesting.
I sometimes joke that not being into ships means being free from this hell, so enjoy it!!
Takeru/Daisuke is a really fun ship and I think my rewatch last year especially alerted me to the potential in it. It somehow took me that long to realize why it had such a fringe popularity base in doujinshi circles. I think it especially tends to seem like it makes little sense to those who mostly remember 02 as having some kind of conflict between the two over Hikari, but if you're actually looking into the nuance of the way the two approach each other it has the potential to be really fun...
The reboot is one of the things that got me to rewatch Adventure and 02, I had kinda forgotten Digimon kinda resparked it in my brain, like "Oh yeah I remember Digimon" and even though I kinda lost interest in the Reboot it did revive my interest in Adventure and 02 so I thank the reboot for that
Believe it or not, the reboot is probably the biggest reason I'm on this blog right now, even despite the majority of my posts not covering the series itself. Kizuna had a part in it, but it was mostly the reboot stimulating discussion of the original series that made me want to chip in. Before then I was a bit hesitant to say anything beyond the scope of my personal friend group, but I have to say that I think, considering the heavily loaded nature of what the reboot was doing, it was pretty impressive how much of a good attitude people were having over it, whether it involved positive or negative feelings over it. So I felt a bit less intimidated, too. Not to say there wasn't drama at all, because fandoms will always be like that, but it was a lot more chill than I was used to, and even moreso than the topic matter would suggest. I think the fact that the series itself has no pretense and clearly wants us to have fun was actually a huge reason for this, to be honest; it set the tone and a good environment even for many who weren't watching but were kinda amused looking in with popcorn. I also see this reflected in Ghost Game's pre-series reception, for which I'm seeing people take an interest in it not even necessarily because they were following the reboot themselves but more "Digimon's back on the mind lately, so might as well."
I'm rambling again, oops! Point is, I think, for us who were here to witness in real-time, I'm glad if many of us could also see the actual experience positively and make the most out of that. I think feelings towards a lot of things will change a lot depending on whether you were watching it as it released or not (as I call it, the "you have to have been there" factor), and I encourage people to take what makes them feel the happiest and what gives them the greatest personal take-home. For me, getting back into thinking hard about the series and talking to others about it is a huge thing, so I'm grateful for that.
Name changes in dubs always seem to make things super confusing, because then you have to remember two sets of names, (especially when one of your friends only watched dub), and sometimes some of the name changes are really confusing, (Yugioh has Fubuki to Atticus and I have no idea how they got Atticus from Fubuki), and then there's Koushiro to Izzy(?) Is it because his last name is Izumi? Confusing. And then there's Iori to Cody, I guess it slightly sounds like it but???
It's tough! Fortunately, I'm someone who knows this franchise deeply enough to have everything committed to memory, and I'm unfazed by someone using dub names when talking to me (I'm personally habituated into the Japanese names so I respond using them, but I honestly don't mind or care whatever people use when talking to me as long as they also understand me back in turn), but it's a tough thing to keep track of.
I think the part that really makes it confusing is that some people have this idea that someone using the dub names is coming from the American English dub version of things, complete with its major changes, but that's not necessarily the case (since some of those dub names were used in other countries, but their translated scripts are more accurate to the Japanese version). Argh.
To be fair, this is something that matters more with a franchise so dependent on an anime, where a lot of people will start taking an interest in the original Japanese version (partially because the American English dub changed so much, but also partially because they want to hear the original voice actors). For instance, since Pokémon is mostly based off a game series, most people are fine using localized Pokémon species names, especially since said games are usually pretty closely translated. With Digimon, on top of its anime dependence, we also have Bandai being painfully inconsistent about its Digimon species names, so it becomes a mess to the extent that a lot of people will start moving to the Japanese version for sheer reasons of consistency, but as you said, it makes it harder to keep up with people who are (quite understandably!) not willing to make as extreme of a shift.
My mind makes weird ideas at 12 am, ever wonder like, what would happen, if Taichi was the sick one and not Hikari
This would cause such a butterfly effect that my head can't even wrap around it...
Well, firstly, my answer about the Adventure group's dynamics would be kind of similar to this one: Hikari does share a lot of traits with her brother like charisma and assertiveness, but the problem is that the age dynamics mean she's going to be too young to be able to assert too much influence on the group. So we'd have the question of who can keep everyone together or acting as leader, and the first half of the story would have a lot more problems...
Trying to figure out the Digimon's positions (Agumon and Tailmon) in this scenario would make things even more terrifying...
