I imagine that Post!Game/Snacktooth Lizbert in Gentle Fangs would be too weak to go into her Weregrump form during her starvation.

It's very usual for Weregrumps to eat a lot (Points to their hunts, one large animal and eating those as a Weregrump is doable, assuming they don't turn back soon after, otherwise oop get sick) due to their bigger stomachs and faster metabolism but it made me think about how they would fare with starvation and stuff that comes with it like malnutrition. And I figured, they wouldn't be able to turn at all for the period of that whole thing, and once they recover from that then they can do the whole shifting during the full moon thing again. Turning uses a fair bit of energy, and their bodies can't risk exhausting themselves if they're already weakened.

It's not super common they starve themselves, so Liz would be a rare case (Just like how she is with the Lone Wolf thing) especially when considering her reason. So she wouldn't be able to be her Weregrump form for... a good couple months, both on and off Snacktooth.

IK I call Liz and Egg Cryptids but that's more for the sake of faster/easier typing. They're cryptids moreso in the actual definition of the word; in that in the AU Supernaturals like them and others are said to exist, maybe even sighted, but it cannot be proven that they do by the public without evidence to back it up.

Only instead of stuff like Nessie and Bigfoot being confirmed hoaxes, in the AU they are very very real and are just smart enough to either hide (Like Eggabell, coming out only when people sleep), or not let anything get back to the public media, outside vague stuff (Like Liz and her attacks on Weregrump hunters getting wind on the news but no real means to prove it was her or a Weregrump that did it and not some wild predator animal).

I'll admit I thought about extending the whole monster thing in the AU a little further past Vampires and Werewolves before, but my knowledge of supernatural beings is slim pickings outside movies and I wanted to keep the focus on LizEgg. Would be a funny scenario where if on Snacktooth Liz and Egg get outed for being dangerous/evil monsters you got some on even more of the down-low there right in the expedition. *Cue Beffica in the back of the crowd whistling*

I bring you more Gentle Fangs fic content after a millennial! Think of the pic I did of the same thing brought into writing form. Like the first one of this AU, Imma call it another one of my experimental fics, and is not my usual ofc. This is heavier in tone than the first as well.
