Send me “Goodbye” for the last voice message my muse leaves for yours before they die.
She’s groggy. Weak. Delirious, almost, if not for honest clarity in her words, behind the exhaustion.
“Hey, Yuu-chan...” a laugh escapes. A small, bubbling laugh. Her voice breaks; it’s a sign of tears. In the background, there’s a faint, steady, beeping beat of a heart monitor. A thick swallow. “Don’t be said, okay? Don’t be sorry, at the very least. You always said that a lot, that you were sorry. Don’t be. You... You never did anything wrong, you know...?”
She sighs. It’s wistful, almost. “Just... Be strong, okay? I know you probably think it’s impossible, but it’s not. You... You’ve always been wonderful. Always been strong. Stronger than me, at least. Always stronger than me.”
There’s a ragged breath that leaves the speaker; it seems she’s almost done, with how her breathing slows, deepens. After a long pause, it seems she finally remembers herself. When she speaks again, her voice is soft. Quiet. “Just... Stick with Masaomi-kun, okay? He’ll take care of you. He’ll keep you safe. Like he kept me safe.”
There’s a soft, sad smile that enters her words. “...Be happy, okay? You deserve it, Yuu-chan. You...”
“You were the best wife I could’ve asked for, you know.”
