Our bodies are not broken things that need to be fixed.
Thoughtful.
Step on the scale. Receive the number that will haunt you day in and day out until you do it again, praying it's something smaller. A measuring tape in one hand, pen and paper to mark those numbers. The calories from the day, burned, retained, net, binged, purged, over, under, the numbers keep coming. Sticking to inside your head for every moment when you're eyeing down sustinence.
For what purpose?
Deciding what's considered a binge and what's considered the norm in regard to the food that enters your body. Determining what is fit, thin, and anorexic. Wishing for that ulitmate goal weight while depriving yourself of self-confidence and happiness until you reach it. Even at that point, the numbers drop down again, the caloric intake. The numbers are reevaluated to be smaller and more appealing. The dress size, the jeans size. The size of perfection.
And it comes to the point where numbers are your life, your obsession. You can't escape them and they consume you and you allow them to. You want to be that number. To transform into that number.
Because it's that number that transitions into control which, in turn, becomes your primary outlet for the self-loathing that is caused by so much more than the addition problems that play out in your head on a daily basis.
Where is the acceptance. The appreciation for the body that has housed your thoughts, that has created your ambition and your passion. You are more than a number. You are beautiful, regardless, as long as you allow yourself to be.

I just fell across a beautiful blog that promotes curvy women. It's probably my ultimate love on tumblr at the moment... and it makes me incredibly happy.
