what i like about equilibrium: pretty much all the parts where i was blatantly making up science about the virus :)))))) although i think that comes with the territory of being a complete nerd

what i would change in equilibrium: one of the things i absolutely knew about the end of this fic is that john isn't magically back to where he used to be--it'll take him months if not years of recovery for him to really get back. i think that the ending i gave was misleadingly happy--though it certainly imparted a sense of optimism that i intended. i actually don't know if i'd change anything about the ending but sometimes i feel like it rings a little false. but then again, the fact that i'm a sucker for happy endings generally tends to win out over my sense of obligation to stick to realism.
