Today I plan to collect primary images that I will reference when responding to Julia Sarda. i am planning to create a series of illustrations responding to various contextual artists this week; all of which will be illustrating lines from Roald Dahl’s Television.
I have chosen this poem because it links closely to the theme of imagination not being encouraged in children, however the poem talks about this in the way that children are kept busy with processed media that does not encourage creative thinking and instead Dahl encourages parents to give children books. Throughout the poem there is a range of creative and visual language that I believe will help me create unique illustrations.
By responding to a range of contextual artists I will be able to explore different methods and a range of techniques. My goal is to have finished 5 illustrations at least by the end of the week and to have brainstormed my ideas for my own original concepts whilst doing this.
